The Tuscarawas County Sheriff’s Office would like to inform the public about a new way to receive information regarding the latest scams. The Ohio Attorney General’s Office has introduced a new scam widget that allows citizens to receive instant updates regarding fraudulent activity targeting hardworking, law-biding citizens. This widget can be downloaded at www.OhioAttorneyGeneral.gov/ConsumerSummit. Citizens can also access it at www.co.tuscarawas.oh.us/sheriff under scams and frauds.
We know that con-artists will use any means for their illicit gains. By receiving warnings concerning the latest scams, the public will be better informed and hopefully will be less likely to fall prey to these scams.
If you believe you have been the victim of a scam or a fraud, please contact the Sheriff’s Office at 330-339-2000. Citizens can also contact the Ohio Attorney General’s Office at 800-282-0515 or at www.SpeakOutOhio.gov.
