A lifelong resident of Tuscarawas County, John Miceli attended Kent State University and is a member of the Farm Bureau, National Rifle Association, Tuscarawas County Regional Planning, and Tuscarawas County Parks Advisory Board. Miceli is also chairman of Tuscarawas County Heath District Advisory Council, Executive Committeeman for Tuscarawas County Township Association, and past-president of Dover Exchange Club. He is founder and President of Miceli Glass Co.
