Road Crew Begins Fall Clean-up, Prepares for Winter

Our road crew is working diligently to address the issues created by falling leaves throughout the entire township. In order to help us best keep our roadways and waterways clear of landscape debris, we ask all residents to make proper disposal of leaves and yard waste a priority this fall.

Dover Township does not provide curbside leaf pickup anywhere within the township, including our densely-populated neighborhoods like Willow Glen. Please do not blow, rake, or dump your leaves and landscape debris on our roadways or into our waterways. It is imperative that our creeks and ditches remain free of leaves and other debris to keep our culverts clear. Roadways and waterways clogged with debris create issues for the entire community.

If you are unable to compost your yard waste on your property, we encourage residents to utilize Dover’s Yard Waste Collection Center. Dumping is free to residents: commercial dumping, however, is not permitted. Located at 100 N. Tuscarawas Avenue behind the Waste Water Treatment Plant, the center is open 8a – 7p daily. Residents can drop-off grass, flower, and garden clippings; leaves; branches; and shrubs. Items must be unbagged.

Those who receive refuse services are encouraged to contact their provider prior to putting yard waste in their garbage.

Finally, if you intend to burn leaves and yard waste, please read the announcement from the ODNR regarding burning laws and wildfire safety.

With winter weather approaching, residents are asked to leave room for our trucks and plows on our roadways. If there is winter weather in the forecast, please do not park along streets as our trucks cannot safely pass.
