The Dover Township trustees invite residents of all ages to an open house and touch-a-truck event at their office, Saturday, October 11, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. at 2000 Red Hill Road. In addition to trustees, attendees will have an opportunity to meet with members of the Dover Fire Department and Dover Township road crew. Vehicles and equipment from both agencies will be on-site, and guests will be treated to popcorn, cookies, and beverages.
“We haven’t held an open house event since our new facility opened in 2014, and we think it’s very important to give our residents a chance to meet with us and to see exactly where their tax dollars are going,” said trustee Mark Digenova. “We’re proud to show the community everything that happens behind the scenes here at Dover Township.”
The Dover Township road crew is comprised of three individuals who are the district’s only full-time employees. These individuals are responsible for managing and maintaining the township’s five cemeteries and near 50-miles of roadways throughout the year.
Trustees remind residents that should they have any concerns or questions, they can talk to a trustee at the open house event or at any upcoming meeting. Trustees meet at 6 p.m. on the first and third Tuesday of each month.
